McDonald & Ross was contracted by BC Hydro to replace the existing bridge at the Buntzen Lake Pumphouse Service Road in Port Moody, BC. The scope of work included but not limited to: ensuring all permits were in place; mobilizing all equipment to site; installation of all environmental protection measures; brushing out workspace on either side of the proposed bridge; removing old bridge structure and disposing of all materials off site; excavating as needed to remove old lock blocks; controlling water levels in creek using pumps and generators; preparing base for new headwalls using clear crush gravel and compactors; setting base slab and building new lock block headwalls; installating new bridge deck and anchoring in place; finishing wiring walls with old lock blocks.; backfilling and compacting approaches with appropriate material and geotextile; completion of bridge decking, rails and fencing; regrading road and worksite; cleaning up site.
