McDonald & Ross Const. Ltd. was contracted by Fortis BC for the installation of 300m of 323mm OD intermediate pressure, sweet natural gas pipeline. The Project was located at an extremely high traffic area in Chilliwack (Vedder Road and Luckakuck Way). The Project included: mobilization to site
• obtaining all permits including WorkSafeBC permits, Notice of Project, 30M33 for crossing BC Hydro distribution lines, road permits from the City of Chilliwack and permission for use of fire hydrants for water jetting
• video recording the entire running line before starting job
• organization of traffic control
• liaison with all landowners and residents directly affected by the Work
• identify, locate and daylight all utilities
• locate all hot lines associated to the new installation
• McDonald & Ross provided all labor, equipment and materials to install the pipe as well as welding and joint completion for the pipe
• complete hydrostatic pressure and leak testing of pipe
• excavation of pits to accommodate proposed tie-in locations
• installation of shoring cages for the tie-in pits
• perform all work to install a complete and operable buried pipe
• assist Fortis with tie-ins
• road cut, excavate, disposal and backfill of trench material
• complete all final black top, road and sidewalk cut repairs
• GPS survey top of pipe all welds;
• temporary paving with final paving after project completion
• disposal of hydrostatic test water in an environmentally responsible manner
• hydrostatic test the existing 323mm gas main to a minimum of 2700kpa for 8 hours
• restoration of disturbed properties, site cleanup and remediation
• demobilization of equipment from site
