McDonald & Ross Const. Ltd. was contracted by Black & McDonald Ltd., consultants for Imperial Oil. This project involved the design and construction of a 42m long roadway providing temporary access down a slope to an Imperial Oil valve site. The roadway was required for a temporary time in order to allow access to remove pipes. An existing foot trail descended the slope of this location and on completion of the work McDonald & Ross converted the roadway into a walking trail which included planting of many trees and shrubs appropriate for the area.
The existing slope is about 12m high and inclined at about 2H:1V and the planned roadway will cross the slope at an angle resulting in a road grade of about 3H:1V. The nominal width of the roadway will be 4m.
