McDonald & Ross was contracted by the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV), Abbotsford campus, for the construction improvements to the pedestrian access to Building A and
Building B and related works.
The project involved the adjustment of the painted lines in the parking area to the northwest of the Buildings A and B to include 6 new, full length parking stalls, 1 “small car” parking spot, and 2 accessible parking spots; installation of a raised crosswalk, and associated line painting, to connect the walkway from Buildings A and B to the existing parking lot to the north; replacement of brick pavers in roadway with new asphalt; replacement of brick pavers and asphalt pathways from parking lot to road with new asphalt and
concrete pathways; construction of a concrete ramp with handrails from the adjusted parking stalls to subject buildings; construction of 2 retaining walls along section of concrete sidewalk/ramp; replacement of brick pavers in walkways with new brick pavers and concrete; installation of curb and gutter along sections of roadway; installation of 2 catch basins, and associated 150mm leads, with connection to existing storm sewer; installation of proposed lighting and electrical works; site cleanup.
